Gwal-y-Filiast, Llanglydwen

'Gwal-y-Filiast', Llanglydwen, Carmarthenshire, Wales, UK.

Limited Edition of 195

"Gwal-y-Filiast is a Neolithic chambered tomb or Cromlech situated in a small clearing on a wooded ridge near to the upper reaches of the river Taf. It dates from 4000 B.C. and consists of a 13 ft capstone supported by four uprights with an opening towards the babbling river below. The literal translation of its Welsh name is 'Lair of the grey hound bitch' but more likely was named after a 'Lair of wolves'. This is a truly mesmerising site encircled by ancient Beech trees and is surely one of the best hidden gems in Wales."
