"Overlooking Abereiddi is a curious round tower set within the confines of a promontory fort. The date of this structure is unknown but it was most likely built as a lookout in response to French assault. The last invasion of British soil took place in 1797 at Llanwnda, a hamlet some eight miles to the east".
